PORTLAND, OR  –  Join Satori Men’s Chorus as we continue to celebrate our 25th Anniversary Season with, “Our Songs of Peace”. Let the meaningful songs of Satori surround you and reassure us all that peace is possible. Experience an uplifting evening of song and celebration that reminds us of the spirit that is Satori Men’s Chorus.
With “Our Songs of Peace”, Satori revisits some of the signature music that has defined them for the past twenty-five years – and continues to do so. Under the Artistic Direction of Susan Dorn, and accompanied by pianist/composer Ben Milstein, Satori Men’s Chorus encourages all to be a part of this highlight event. Recognize the joy of a “Satori Moment”, which is defined as “a fleeting yet transformational moment of enlightenment; an extraordinary experience of grace, wonder and mystery”.
For this special occasion, expect many delightful and unique moments. There may even be a surprise guest or two joining Satori for this 25th Anniversary Celebration. Some may be old friends, and some may become new friends – and all will be a joy and enlightenment to your “Satori Experience”.
A special message to all former members of Satori – If you, or someone you know, are a former member of Satori Men’s Chorus, we welcome you to be in the audience and join us once again in our signature musical reminder that “Peace Is a’Come”. Be a part of the 25th year celebration! Tap your toes and clap your hands in the rhythm of life that is Satori Men’s Chorus.
This 25th Anniversary Concert program is a fantastic mix of musical genres from start to finish, all associated with the foundation of Satori Men’s Chorus – ‘Men Singing Peace’. Music that is truly engaging, uplifting, expressive, and beautiful. Satori will be sharing such pieces as Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”, Kahlil Gibran and Ysaye Barnwell’s “On Children”, “Turn the World Around”, “Umi Sono Ai”, Robert Burns’ “A Red, Red Rose”, Joan Szymko’s “Bright Morning Star”, “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother”, and more … music that symbolizes what brought the original Men of Satori together, and music that continues to demonstrate that peace is possible, along with the love songs and songs of freedom that help us sustain the belief that peace will come.
